Marek Kossiba

Most of my art is done to express myself, to document my life, and to reach out to others who might share similar thoughts and emotions.  Isolation, hostility, fear and suspicion seem all too prevalent in today’s culture. Because of this, I’ve promised myself to paint for love and beauty.

For me, painting is my life and my refuge. Through brush strokes I invite others to pose, reflect, and take a second look for a better life.  My imagery and interest in paintings has had many influences – the form and sculpted figures of the Italian Renaissance, color and its illusion of French Impressionism, and composition of 20th Century Abstract Art.

I’ve learned that confidence in the relationship between my eye, my hand, and my mind allows me to paint what I know –- the world that I live in-- and cherish each day.
